Wow! This is pretty old (HTML file dates December 30, 1998), but I was shocked by it. The Southern Poverty Law Center has written a fill-in-the-blank law OUTLAWING Militias that can be adopted by any state. Under this law, your local militia group can be in big trouble. The SPLC just assumes that any militia is a white seperatists hate group, and targets them for extinction.

A reader wrote in to tell us about a story about full-body X-rays being used in some large airports to better detect contrban. From the NRA-ILA FAX ALERT Vol. 7, No. 1 1/7/00

A group that claims to represent the interests of firearm retailers was recently formed, and immediately began negotiating with the Clinton-Gore Administration in what seems to be an attempt to appease its anti-gun appetite. The group, the National Coalition of Firearm Retailers, is headed by Robert Ricker, who previously worked for the American Shooting Sports Council (ASSC).

A concerned reader sent us a note about a story running in the Denver Post, ``Related to the Ruger policy that distributors only sell to store front dealers and not those dealers whose lively hood is derived from sales at Gun Shows.'' It strikes me as odd that the largest US manufacturer of firearms keeps trying to alienate itself from it's core customer base.
