a “straw conservative” for Kerry
Written by bigpig
Thursday, 30 September 2004
Jack Straw sent us this: "Bush will run this country into bankruptcy just like he's done with every company he has owned. His people are smart politicians and will tell us what we want to hear but they make bad leaders. Please stay smart, save our country and support our troops -- vote for Kerry, even if you don't like his campaign. Thank you. " .... uh... yeah... we believe you, Jack. (Read the rest.)

Repeal Of D.C. Gun Ban Comes To The House Next Week
Written by bigpig
Thursday, 23 September 2004
It's a familiar refrain: The gun-grabbers clearly want to take away your "big, ugly" semiautomatics. But, they claim, they don't support an outright firearms ban. Next week, the House is scheduled to vote on repealing Washington, D.C.'s gun ban. -- Read the rest. Write your legislators!

Olympic Officials Assume Godlike Power Over Human Lives
Written by bigpig
Friday, 10 September 2004
"During the Cold War, both sides used the Olympic games as a forum to rally world sympathy for their respective causes. But with the conclusion of that ideological conflict, it seems an act of Hegelian synthesis has taken place surrounding this international festival that would make Marx’s whiskers tingle in delight." CBS publishes forged documents -- stands by them
Written by bigpig
Friday, 10 September 2004
CBS's 60 Minutes ran an exclusive on “New Questions On Bush Guard Duty,” on 08.Sep.2004 and presents four new documents they have recently “obtained,” which are damning evidence of Bush's Air National Guard record.

Seems to be only one small problem: The documents, all supposedly from 1972/1973 were produced on a recent version of Microsoft Word with a modern proportional-spaced font and a laser printer, none of which was available in 1972 and 1973.

Darn that annoying right-wing wacko at Little Green Footballs!

Today, in order to show the utter contempt with which CBS views their audience, CBS is standing by the memos and the report.

Just Five More Days Until the Semi-auto Ban Sunsets!
Written by bigpig
Wednesday, 08 September 2004
"... But Brady Bunch making one last push on the House, Senate and Oval Office. Only five more days. That's all that is left until the Clinton ban on more than 180 types of semi-automatic firearms and magazines sunsets. The magic date is September 13. One of the most hated gun bans ever enacted will cease to exist. But not if the Brady Bunch has its way." Read the rest!

Kerry's busted gun run
Written by bigpig
Tuesday, 07 September 2004
Matt Drudge busts Kerry running for the gun vote.

Was Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry seen this weekend waving a gun which would have been banned if legislation he co-sponsored became law?

Kerry co-sponsored S. 1431 last year (“The Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2003) which would have banned a "semiautomatic shotgun that has a pistol grip.”

You just gotta get tired of the bloody noses Kerry keeps giving himself.

Bush Campaign Ashamed Of Its Key Constituency
Written by bigpig
Saturday, 04 September 2004
"Someone forwarded me an email about volunteering with the Bush Reelection Campaign . Curious, I clicked on the link for no other reason than to see what was up --- or to phrase it in a more sophisticated manner ---- to gather intelligence.

As part of the volunteer registration process, those logging onto the site have the option of participating in various outreach efforts targeted at specific demographic groups or policy interests. Among the groups potential volunteers can direct their efforts towards include Arabs, Hispanics, African Americans, and Young Professionals. There are even efforts targeted at faith-based communities, Jews and Catholics being specifically mentioned."

Olympic-Sized Doubletalk
Written by bigpig
Tuesday, 24 August 2004
"Headline: “Puerto Rico beats the United States in Olympic Basketball.” What’s wrong with the above statement? Well, the last time I checked, Puerto Rico is part of the United States.

As such, shouldn’t Puerto Ricans pursuing Olympic glory be required to do so under the banner of the United States if they are going to enjoy U.S. citizenship? If they desire the beneficence of being Americans, shouldn’t they want to be on the U.S. Olympic team?"

Pro-gun Coburn Wins Oklahoma Primary
Written by bigpig
Wednesday, 18 August 2004
....Coburn now faces U.S. Representative Brad Carson.

Coburn has been attacked for his votes on gun issues, so he used GOA information to defend his position. Coburn was one of only 22 members of the House to vote pro-gun on one bill. That provides some measure of the man.

By contrast, Carson made it clear that his vision of a politician is to "benefit the people." Of course, as a socialist, he is not talking about using his own money. Carson votes to build the size of government, including the gun control bureaucracies.

Brad Carson's idea of "benefiting the people" goes beyond spending lots of their money. He also thinks that we benefit by having campaign speech regulated. That's why he voted for the McCain-Feingold incumbent protection act that so delighted the folks at the Brady Campaign, the leading anti-gun group in Washington. They saw the new law as a way to gag the gun lobby....

Gays Growing More Blatant In Their Heterophobia
Written by bigpig
Saturday, 07 August 2004
"For the past several decades, the steady stream of sodomite propaganda has assured us that all gays want is a bit of privacy since what one does in the confines of one’s own bedroom is no one else’s business. But as these activists stand on the threshold of having their liaisons sanctified in the eyes of the law and thus the broader culture, it becomes more apparent that their interests do not lie so much with being left alone as in being granted special privileges and in compelling the rest of us to accept their aberrancy as legitimate." Anti's Trying to Rescue the Semi-Auto Ban from Death Row
Written by bigpig
Friday, 23 July 2004
"Thanks to your efforts, the Clinton semi-auto ban is about to expire. The ban on magazines and firearms -- passed in 1994 -- represents one of the most hated pieces of gun control ever enacted. But with less than two months to go (and Congress being in recess most of that time), the ban is scheduled to sunset on September 13, 2004.... Anti-gun Senator Dianne Feinstein, however, is not giving up and is pushing hard to get the semi-auto ban tacked on to some other bill." Read the rest and see what you can do to help.

Noisy Bugs Aren’t Only Ones Making Irritating Racket
Written by bigpig
Tuesday, 20 July 2004
FMeekins sends us: "Every seventeen years, periodical cicadas emerge from their otherwise sedate underground burrows to serenade their ladies fair and to inconvenience humans unsettled by the disturbing countenance and unique musical tastes of these creatures. But unlike environmentalists and evolutionists, these pests are gracious enough to subject us to their whining only once every decade and a half and aren’t nearly as nerve-wracking."

Liberal Media In Ideological Collusion With Iraqi Militants
Written by bigpig
Tuesday, 22 June 2004
FMeekins sent us this: "A few weeks ago at Wallace Presbyterian Church where I occasionally attend, a member returning from a tour of duty in Iraq briefly addressed the congregation about his experience in the theater of conflict. Most interesting of his comments was his observation of how the media is only telling part of the story by focusing almost exclusively on the violent malcontents."

Written by bigpig
Sunday, 06 June 2004
by Support Our Military: "PROUD PARENTS OF OUR MILITARY -- We are NOT a manufacture or distribution company. We are just a Mom and Dad who have two son's in the military. One is in Germany and the other in Iraq. Our youngest in Iraq, who is now 24, entered a university when he was only 15. At 18, upon graduation, he was commissioned an officer. When he became 22 he was promoted to Captain. Our oldest in Germany joined the service at 19. He is married with 4 children. They both have a love for our country and we of course, are proud of them for their commitment in serving our Nation. We are full time RVer's and are rasing our 5 year old grandson. He too is proud of his uncles and understands they are part of America's best." Read the rest for more information.

Simpsons' Episode Assailing Patriot Act To Be A Classic
Written by bigpig
Sunday, 06 June 2004

Classic episodes that come to mind include the ones spoofing the Masons, the UFO cult, and Homer’s Drudge-style webpage. Joining these will no doubt be the one alluding to the Patriot Act." Still Say She's A Tramp
Written by bigpig
Thursday, 20 May 2004
FMeekins sent us this: "A few weeks ago, my column on American Idol drew unprecedented criticism for daring to raise concerns regarding the moral character of contestant Fantasia Barrino. Most chided me for judging her for having a child outside of marriage, arguing such a birth is no biggie under the sensibilities of the New Morality and that those not having their offspring hacked to death at the local abortatorium ought to be on the shortlist of this year’s Nobel nominees. But even setting this issue aside, it’s my contention she is still of questionable repute." Read the rest

Quotas Command Society Elite's Answer To Everything
Written by bigpig
Saturday, 15 May 2004
FMeekins sends us, "Leave it up to liberals to create new problems in their attempt to solve others of their own making.

Throughout the course of contemporary educational history, the phenomena of grade inflation has come to plague the assessment of students as academic standards are relaxed and professors grow reluctant to be overly critical of students for fear of various kinds of reprisals --- be they administrative, collegial, or even violent in nature."
